Overview:
This was a project created as part of my internship at PATIO Interactive. The idea was to simulate how COVID-19 would spread inside the user's environment with or without a mask if it could be seen under a black light. We used Augmented Reality through the user's mobile device to simulate different scenarios that could happen. Starting with the idea of seeing COVID, I took that and created this application.

Process:
To do this project I learned both ARKit and Unity MARS.  Unity MARS was only released during the creation of the application.

I was also researching COVID-19 with what little we knew about it at the time. Trying to determine how it spread and at what rate was a challenge with new information coming out each week.

Implementing the different values of how it spreads considering both distances and density was a way to really learn about the virus and teach others too.

Takeaways:
This application was the first time developing for an AR environment. It taught me a lot about how to create AR apps and their capabilities. For me, using a new development tool to solve a unique problem was challenging and exciting.
